Hi guys. I build my first pc a week ago(Asus Maximum Hero X (AC) intel 8700k, Gskill Trident Z 16gb(2x8) 3200mhz 14cl ram) Everything works fine except one thing. I cant overclock my ram. I only can get 2500mhz 14 cl or 2800mhz 16cl. (i tried really everything followed videos step by step, bios update etc simply activating xmp doesnt work) Now i discovered that no matter which voltage i type in it doesnt change in the hardware monitor when i reboot. I always only have 1.088. How can i fix this? I think this is the problem...

yes sure. its nothing that simple. today i visited my friend and my ram worked perfectly in his "cheap" pc after activating xmp. so its something wrong with the mainboard.

First thing I would do is get Memtest ( put it on a USB stick and boot into that ) and test it ?

Then if that is ok I would reset everything back to default and then just enable XMP and nothing else.

Get CPUID and see what is showing........remember to double

do you even read my text philly? you asked me already 2 questions that i answered in my thread message...
booting with one stick is the same. and like i already said bios is updated.
memtest shows no errors.
already resetet like 10 times.
and if i activate xmp the pc doesnt boot.
but i dont need help anymore. today i will send my mainboard back to amazon and get a shiny one from MSI.

well you ask for help and people try to assist , yes it can be frustrating and the Hero brand seems not to be that impressive

I have just installed an Asrock z370 K6 and it kills the Hero in boot time and is easy to o/c.
