Looking for EQ presets | what does the compressor do?

First, if anyone knows where I can find some good pre-made EQ presets that'd be great.

The other thing is I was wondering about the use of the Sonic Studio Compressor. Does it just bring up quiet sounds to make them a bit louder and lower the sound of overly high volume sound, or does it actually compress the wavelengths of the audio? If it clips frequencies I don't really see how using it would be beneficial.

    Thanks.

The EQ presets we have are already built into the software.

The purpose of the Compressor function is limit the maximum volume, to avoid sudden loud sounds harmful to your ears. Sony provides a similar feature called AVLS.

Thanks for the reply. For the EQ, I know of the pre-sets, I just thought that with the number of people using your cards there might have been a repository of custom made pre-sets.
Thanks for the link and the info.
