    1. "Sync at Shutdown" will not let me select any option other than the default Color Cycle. Despite selecting OFF, the option does not set. On SLEEP the motherboard will continue to color cycle. The LEDs do not turn OFF in sleep.

    Sync at Shutdown is broken.
Yup.. It does this on the Rampage V Edition 10 too!
It used to work just fine.. but definitely broken on Lighting_Control_1.06.29.

After updating GeForce drivers to version 397.93 Aura_1.06.29 no longer recognize my Asus Strix GTX1080-8G-Gaming.
    Same with GeForce 397.64.

But with GeForce 3.91.35 all worked fine again.

Seems to me that NVidia changed something in their newest drivers and that there is now an incompatibility with Aura?
Maybe other problems with Aura have the same reason?

Here we go again... everything was working perfect, now Asus 1080Ti GPU can't be controlled by AURA at all.

Since my update to Win10 1803 with AURA 1.06.17, I cannot get the gpu lighting on my ASUS 1080Ti to recognise any colour changes.
My ASUS X370-F mobo and G-Skill Trident Z RGB sync fine, just the gpu so it's clearly a bug as this worked great previously.

Please stop regressing your app ASUS, getting really frustrating.

Problems what I have is relatively high CPU usage generated by LightingService.exe on start it's about 5-6% on i7-7700K but after some amount of time its about 22-25%.
AURA is such a garbage software! Many versions and issues are still the same.

Exact same issue. Many people are experiencing this from what I can tell yet no word from Asus. I would suggest everyone check how much lighting service is sucking up. This needs to be fixed; how is this issue not a higher priority???

Black Screen/Crash when using Smart Temp setting for RGB

Anytime I attempt to use Aura Sync to sync my Wraith Spire and my motherboard using the Smart Temperature setting, after a varying amount of time I receive a black screen of death, followed by an inability to boot. I have flip off the power supply, disconnect the cable, and wait 10 seconds. Then I can reinsert the cable, flip the switch and press power to boot again. If I set it to any other setting than the Smart settings, I'm fine. I am running Rainbow sync now without issues for a few hours.

    Asus Prime X370-PRO
AMD Ryzen 1700 with Wraith Spire
    Powercolor Red Dragon RX570
    Corsair Vengance 16GB CMK16GX4M2Z2666C16
Logitech K800 and MX Master 2S

BIOS is currently flashed to 4011

No other RGB software. Pretty much the only thing on this box is Windows, some Steam and Epic games, HWINFO x64 and Rainmeter with some skins loaded for CPU/video/disk/network monitoring. Not really necessary for temp sync to work for me, would just be kinda nifty

I may try unloading HWINFO for a while to see if that stops it while I wait for suggestions, maybe it's trying to poll the sensor that Aura Sync wants to read for temp LED control and causing a crash.

Thanks for any help that anyone can offer!

    EDIT: remove redundancies

high cpu usage and stuck to a color when launching a game (possibly conflicting)

The online game I play is called the Great Merchant. Whenever I launch the game, the cpu usage of lighting service goes up and all the rgbs are stuck to a color instead of rainbow supposedly. And I couldn't open up the Aura software. The game uses gameguard so that maybe one of the possible causes of conflict.

before I launch the game: (sorry for some reason I couldn't upload the image)

    after I launch the game:

I am using the latest version of Asus Aura, and my computer's spec are follows:
    r5 2600 with a wraith prism cooler
    prime x470-pro
    trident z rgb 3200Mhz 2x8gb
    gtx 1060 3gb
    adata sx6000 256gb

I tried uninstalling the software but that just make it worse cause all the rgbs seem to lost their default lighting setting when windows is loaded up (before entering windows, all the rgbs were perfectly synced and running at their default pattern). After entering windows all the rgbs were off-sync and my two sticks of trident z rgb were running at different colors. It seems that the Aura software has some leftover setting in windows but I just couldn't get rid of them using revo uninstaller.

I'm desperate right now as I seem to have only two choices, one is to leave Aura eat up my cpu resources, another is to uninstall the software and suffer the off-sync, which both of them are painful.

Can anyone figure out what was the problem? I would be super grateful if anyone has a solution to it.

You can do nothing. Those problems is the effect of low quality code. We all have this issues and there's no solution for them.

+1 on that one my friend, had this problem since forever getting up to 10% on a 8700K, I did find though since I only put my computer to sleep that if I put the task as low priority it won't happen as often.

I also saw on another thread that someone actually made a powershell script to help combat the issue found:
    https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...n-i9-7900X-CPU

The annoying thing is that from looking at the forums I've found that they're saying it's normal for custom colours/settings to cause high usage, however I don't understand how it uses 2% most of the time or/and when refreshed, then leaks to around 10-20% is due to "settings/custom colours" when in fact it's clearly not the complicated "gradient rainbow setting, custom colours or custom settings" using these resources otherwise it would always be 10%

    But this is only workaround...
