Does this new bios still have the slowdowns of the previous bios relating to Meltdown and Spectre?

Update: scrub that it still has the same cpu micro code update as specified on this web page https://www.asus.com/News/V5urzYAT6myCC1o2 asus saying to use 3802, I won't be installing this bios or any future bios's until they put the performance back to what it should be.

Sounds like an upgrade to Cannon Lake for you then, because microcode patches are all that Coffee Lake and earlier are going to get.

I installed 3802 on my Maximus VIII Ranger Mobo two days ago and today I had this weird experience. I shut down the PC (I run Win 10 but have not applied the April Creators Update yet) and the fans continued to run. After waiting for a few minute, I pressed the reset button and I had no video signal until I saw the Windows login screen. Then I shut down normally .
I do not recollect to have had such a problem before except maybe with the early BIOS versions. I am not sure if it will happen again but I doubt that it has been an accident. I am posting here because I don't see a general thread for the new BIOS. If somebody has encountered the same issue and knows of a solution, let me know.

What's the latest word on the slowdowns? How much of a degrade in performance are we talking?

I still see a no change to 2 FPS drop in most games and my 3DMark TimeSpy I dropped about 80 points from 6145 to 6065. The storage performance of my 960 Pro is down about 5% in 4K-64 and a slight drop in 4k single. Latencies seem unchanged across the board. Other than benchmarks, I don't notice any difference in performance. Slight synthetic changes really.

So would you recommend updating BIOS for someone who primarily uses their computer for gaming? (Mainly for the security benefits provided)
