No problem at all when booting after disabling all SATA ports, unplugging all USB storage and just using my Intel 750 1.2TB PCI-E NVME drive.

That's odd. I always freeze with "Boot drive only" enabled. But, I'm also running a 950 pro with an 850 pro on the first SATA port, for the linux swap partition. Wonder if Asus fixed the issue with the update, or if it's something unique to my setup.

If I update to this BIOS, can anyone tell me how I can transfer my current BIOS settings without having to memorize or write them all down? I guess I'm asking is there an easy way, or do I need to re-establish them all in the new BIOS?

bios configs are not portable between bios versions... eg, they are not backwardly compatible. best thing to do is nav to the Profiles page put a usb stick in any port and hit ctrl-F2 to drop a txt file of all the bios settings to the stick. Print.

What I did, was take a picture of all the bios settings with a tablet. Makes it very easy then.
