Yeah... With updates like this the best way to do it in my experience is a clean install. Also MS is rolling out this like they have before, anyone that updates now is their guinea pigs.

My only issue was with the 10G driver. I had to add a entry in the host file to get to this computer now on the network. I repaired the driver and it fixed the VMs running a VPN on that host to work again. But it didn't fix the network access.

I test it mine is ok. There are changes to the windows audio control since now windows detect multiple sources, and can be adjust. I have no idea if asus will make a update o Realtek. but will be nice to control that on asus apps.

OS wise is certainly the best. However, if you have to re-install Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autocad, Font Management, Shortcuts and the list could be pages it is absolutely out of the question.
It would take me a week non-stop to reconfigure and set-up everything on a clean install and about to test it now since I am switching PCs. That was also the reason that I did not upgrade my old PC (Q9550) for that long.
A clean install for me means downtime and due to work obligations I can't afford it. I just wish Microsoft made it easier.

I took the plunge last night via the upgrade path and had no issues so far. I have not had a ton of time to look through everything but so far, so good. Better success than 1709 for me. No shut down issues.

Some people had shut down and other issues with 1709. I tried every which way to resolve it and eventually decided to forego 1709 and stuck with 1703. So far I don't have any issues including on 1803.
I see the x299 1803 windows thread got moved to general. I thought I was going crazy trying to find it.Last edited by mpoffo; 05-01-2018 at 08:33 PM.

I ran the update on my x299 R6E and it updated everything quite quickly, under 10 minutes. The only issue I had was with Asus Armory which changed the default profile on my mouse to have 100% angle snapping, so I really couldn't use/move my mouse very well. It had changed some other settings on the default profile as well. Once I got angle snapping turned off and saved, I was able to make the changes to revert the profile back to what it was before the update. No other profiles were effected. Other than that I haven't seen any other issues.
I used the upgrade from USB and not a clean install.Panteks Enthoo Elite / Asus x299 Rampage VI Extreme / Intel I9-7900X / Corsair Dominator RGB 3200MHz

The auto-updated installed on my G701VIK Laptop and the keyboard stopped working except for the F keys, almost panicked but was able to get the onscreen keyboard to log in and restore back, I think I'll wait awhile before trying it again.
