ASUS Motherboards Microcode Update for Speculative Execution and Indirect Branch Prediction Side Channel Analysis Method

Important Information about Meltdown and Spectre

ASUS is aware that current Intel® and AMD microcode versions might be subject to recently identified security vulnerabilities, commonly known as Meltdown and Spectre. We are working diligently to update ASUS motherboards that support 6th, 7th or 8th Generation Intel Core™ processors or Intel Core X-Series processors for X99 and X299 platforms*, and also all AMD AM4 / TR4 processors for X399 / X470 / X370 / B350 / A320 platforms. We recommend customers update their systems by downloading and applying the latest BIOS, as soon as the relevant revision becomes available. We also encourage customers to review relevant security information from Intel and AMD, paying particular attention to the appropriate identification and mitigation measures.

The above 1003 BIOS includes these fixes.

Update to 1003 resulted in "inacessible boot device" with Windows 10, back to 0902...

Did reverting work? I happened to learn a lot about that error due to some non-firmware related reasons...I'd be surprised if that was the cause of the error. In my case it was because I had trouble getting the RAID drivers installed before switching to RAID mode. I upgraded from 0902 to 1003 without any issues.

From https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/install/installing-a-boot-start-driver

Inaccessible boot device: The boot disk is a third-party mass-storage device that requires a driver that is not included with Windows.

Thank you for the feedback. Ive been really happy with 0902 and i dont find the need to over clock my memory with the latest agesa.

So i will wait until i have a reason to change and when bugs are sorted out.

Yea, the reverting was no problem.
