Screen in standby - GPU clock rises?

Flexerl

I left my PC to watch TV for a while, and when I came back after over an hour, the PC was idling and the screen was in standby mode. So far, so good, works as intended (30 mins -> screen off). Then I noticed the GPU had clocked from 23 MHz to 850 MHz, and RAM was at 1000 MHz. The clock rates returned to idle values once I reactivated the PC/screen. I have a Strix Vega 64 and I'd expect clocks to remain at desktop idle level once the screen is off. Any ideas what could be causing this behaviour?

Edit: Additional info
- CH VII Hero WiFi, Ryzen 7 2700x
- Energy profile: Balanced (non-AMD)
- Screensaver disabled
- GFX BIOS: Applied the update from January 2018

Sounds like an anomaly to me. I'd just reboot and keep an eye on any future such strange activity. Or does this continue to happen?
