BCLK Overclocking on 2700X with the ROG Crosshair VII Hero
Hi all,
I've been trying to get BCLK overclocking going on the C7H with the 2700X and I've been getting some mixed results. Generally speaking it works just fine up to a base clock of 101 Mhz but after that point it will always get stuck in the boot process. The CPU POSTs just fine and I can even get into the BIOS without issue, but the computer will just freeze and instantly get stuck at the part where I actually boot Windows. I'm not sure what's causing that or how I can fix it (assuming doing so is even possible) as I'm new to this whole process of BCLK overclocking. Actually, depending on how high I try setting the base clock (104 is the highest I've tried) it will occasionally get stuck during random parts of the POSTing process. It doesn't even "fail" to POST per se, it will start to POST or boot and then just get stuck. Q-Code doesn't really tell me anything as even the Q-Code gets stuck as well when this happens.
I'm guessing maybe I might have reached my hard limit on this but that seems a little bit... low? Have I really just reached my hard limit on BCLK at 101mhz? Is there anything else I can do like increasing some sort of voltage or something? Is the 0601 BIOS bugged maybe?

Have you updated your bios version? Im running the 2700x on the x370-f mb and am running a stable base speed of 3.9Ghz and a boost speed of 4.5ghz. Running on an AIO cooler with stable and no crashes touch wood.

An update for you guys:
I seem to have fixed the problem by updating my AMD chipset drivers. AMD released a new set of drivers very recently and I can now get into Windows with BCLK higher than 101 (though not without a negative voltage offset for some reason... the freezing while booting/POSTing still happens if I don't use a negative offset).
