I have 3900X reserved for a pickup tomorrow and it will replace my current CPU, Ryzen 2600x.
There is this list made by someone on reddit that says the Strix X470-F Gaming is fine for 3900x, but is it?
I have not tested that combo myself, but i cant see any issues why it shouldn't work good?

Some guy on Reddit just posted this:
*“Asus Strix x470-F on bios 5007 with AGESA 1.0.0.2 with a 3700x PC wont post and CPU debug light turns on. Works fine when I put my 2700 back in.

I just ordered the same CPU but until now i cant find any test with this mainboard. (The x470 chipset should be supported but by Asus we know how the SW Development is working)

So I have a very weird issue with this board, that I believe I have narrowed down to a single BIOS setting. Here are the particulars, I have two M.2 drives on this board (although the issue still appears with only one installed). Two SATA devices (HDD & Optical drive, I know, nobody uses optical drives anymore). A 2700X and a GTX-1080Ti, everything is watercooled using a custom loop. Even with all cores running at 4.3 GHz the CPU\PC rarely exceeds 50°C. Here is the issue. I am currently running on TPU-II, DDR-3200, most of the rest on Auto. The issue starts when I try to do a negative offset for CPU Voltage, even at the lowest setting, the NVMe drive fails to be recognized at boot time. I usually get four quick beeps at POST which for AMI used to mean a System Timer failure. As soon as I return the CPU Voltage back to Auto, everything works fine. It is driving me nuts trying to figure out if that is really the issue or if I just got extremely unlucky in the silicon lottery.
I love computers but my passion is cycling. My Shapeways page.

I would set TPU to default, it might try to do some BLCK overclocking, so the reference clock goes above 100 and NVM drives dont like this.
    Just use XFR + PE2, scalar 10

If you do want to use BLCK overclocking, it supposed to work best with lower 4 sata ports.
But you cant use PBO and raise the BLCK clock on this board

The minus offset is really working ? I tried -0.1V and the PC won't boot.
I use PE2 and and everything else are on AUTO.

Yes it works, -0.1V is apparently too much for your rig, I've used -0.0875V since the beginning. More than that, it boots, but Windows freezes after a while. -0.0875V is stable.

Asus hasnt updated x470-f bios since 21.06 so I doubt it has the needed AGESA that AMD held back until embargo was over. Expect performance around 4-4.2ghz with 2133 ram if it boots at all.

    Can't overclock at all

Hey guys, I have this board with a 2700x and have had it since last October. I had 4.2 GHz stable at 1.375V for quite some time. But now if I try any manual overclock at all it won't POST, even just to 3.8 GHz on stock voltage. However, it will run the TPU overclock just fine. I cleared CMOS and also installed a Ryzen 3 1200 and it's still doing the same thing. Any ideas? Thanks.

PBO will take care of the OC and it works great. NO problems with performance here.
HEy there, I updated these trying to get a little more out of her, and although the bios says the right numbers for them, Ryzen master all says 1000A limit for TDC and EDC. I am hoping ryzen master is only reading it wrong. I double checked my bios settings and they are correct.

I am thinking there might be an issue with Ryzen master, since the voltage is incorrect too, it is showing 1.54-1.49 whereas CPU-Z is showing steady at 1.461 max.
