IF the support will ever come officially. it will depend on AMDs goodwill and AGESA.
maybe it can only be used with some modded bios versions. time will tell.
    I don't need PCIe 4 anyways atm

Sorry but PCIE 4.0 will be only on X570. For X470, it was on beta and Asus will never support it after.

Compability Issue Bios 5007 and Radeon RX480/570?!

I bought a new Ryzen 3700X and a ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming. I have updated the bios to 5007. I install an rx 570 and the post hangs with a white LED. When I installed a old nvidia 560Ti no problem to boot up to the state where I get into the bios. I also change the rx 570 to a rx 480. Same issue! Any suggestions or experiences with similar issues. I also install an Athlon 200GE using the IGPU to get into the bios and had the rx 570 installed in the first PCIE_x16 slot. But under GPU Information no external GPU is detected.

Flashed bios back to 4804 -> same results.

Update 26/07/2019: The issue was caused by one of my monitors, when connected via HDMI the post failed. In the meantime I used a X570 Board showing same issues. So I used another monitor and all works as expected. So I cancel the return of the asus board, got the board yesterday back and it rocks.

I could not find a statement in there from Asus that Asus would not support pcie 4. I do understand why AMD might want to do their best to eliminate liability from overheated X470 and B450 MBs being used with pcie 4 devices.

While AMD's position would certainly prevent Asus from marketing the X470 and B450 boards from being pcie 4 able, that doesn't stop them from choosing to enable it for enthusiasts anyway in the BIOS. Assuming of course that they wouldn't have to do heavy rewriting of the microcode that AMD sends them. Since they already let the cat out of the bag and let everyone know this is possible, would not surprise me if they did.

Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Did my first stage of a 3700X build on X470-F. I bought the SD deal this week for the X470-F and 2600X for $230. Used the 2600X today to upgrade the board to 5007. Switched in the 3700X. Posted without any problems.

I won't do the Windows installation until Monday when my Samsung NVME drive gets here. I'll update my experience with Windows and the 3700X in case anyone else is considering the X470-F.

    Ryzen 9 3900X Update

I have 3900X reserved for a pickup tomorrow and it will replace my current CPU, Ryzen 2600x.
There is this list made by someone on reddit that says the Strix X470-F Gaming is fine for 3900x, but is it?
I've managed yesterday to pair ryzen 9 3900x with Strix X470-F Gaming without a big problem (bios is buggy with the mouse input), other than that DOCP set my RAM to the advertised speed of the stick 3200MHz (G.Skill DDR4 F4-3200C14 32GB) and so far no problem.
