I do. Not sure if it's really necessary anymore but it tends to cause problems. Or at least it did on earlier motherboards I used.

I saw this on the OC forum:

I strongly advise against installing a new AGESA combo AM4 0.0.7.0 and 0.0.7.2

    There is a significant deterioration in Inter-Core Latency from 73.3 to 77.7 (5%), Inter-Core Bandwidth from 59.5 to 56.72 (4.9%) and U0-U12 Data Latency from 105 to 112.7ns (7%)

Question UEFI 4406 - were there changes to XFR / PBO / Performance Enhancer?

Since the Uefi update to version 4406, my 2700x on a Asus Strix x470-F will only boost under full load in Cinebench only to 3,95 GHz with "Performance Enhancer" set to Level 2.

    UEFI 4207:
PE Level 2, 4,10 - 4,20 GHz on all cores, depending on the load scenario.
PE Level 1, 4,05 - 4,10 GHz on all cores, depending on the load scenario.
PE Level default, 3,95 - 4,05 GHz on all cores, depending on the load scenario.

    UEFI 4406:
PE Level 2, 3,95 - 4,03 GHz on all cores, depending on the load scenario.
PE Level 1, 3,95 - 4,03 GHz on all cores, depending on the load scenario.
PE Level default, 3,95 - 4,03 GHz on all cores, depending on the load scenario.

Is there a bug / known issue with Performance Level 1 and 2 with UEFI 4406? Sadly i cant downgrade the UEFI, since EZ Flash fails on validating the 4207 UEFI file.

similar mobo, so maybe we got this in common.
PBO do work very well, as before, BUT it can't be activated in the bios anymore. One has to use Ryzen Master and apply a edited profile to get PBO working.

Also, max cpu power is hardlocked at ca 125W, that can also be edited out in a Ryzen Master profile. Just change PPT, TDC and EDC to desired values and apply.

Really annoying, but PBO still works!

No, that is not true, that variance depends on which performance preset is choosen in the bios. AIDA/Geekbench-preset has low latencies, but worse memory bandwith. CB15 has worse latencies, but higher memory bandwith.

In AIDA/Geekbench-mode I get 72ns so no deterioration, same behavior as before, the poster must have forgotten which settings he used.

For this post it seems like the problem with PE presets is that they don't raise the max current settings, even if they touch max power, negating it. Given the similarity of the bios, I presume "PBO bios switch" means the PE levels (only 1-2 for the Pro), as the PBO submenu has been removed after 4024. In the same thread you can find instructions on how to downgrade bios.
Also, thank you Flakstar for your testing.

If you read a couple of posts back you will see PBO works, but can't be activated in the bios. You have to create a profile in Ryzen Master to use PBO, and also to unlock the new power limit.
