Asus Hero X question

EvolutionX
Level 7
Ok guys just had a question. Am about to pull the trigger on the Hero X for my 8700k build. I do want to add some RGB fans from Corsair and will be buying the commander pro but had some questions about the 2.0 headers on the board. If i want my 2 USB 2.0 ports to work on my I/O i have to use 1 header. I also want to run a AIO which also ueses a 2.0 header. The corsair commander pro also ( i think ) uses a 2.0 header. Does this mean i will not be able to use the commander pro to control all the RGB fans from this board?

Pull the trigger the X Hero is a very nice board

The Commander pro has two USB 2.0 sockets.

For your front i/o USB 2.0 ports - connect that to socket USB910 on the X HERO
Connect the Commander Pro to socket USB1112 on the X Hero
Connect the AIO to the Commander Pro

Thanks for the reply, The AIO i will be using is the Evga 280 clc but this should still work going through the ComPro as its just for power right? Wow very nice setup you have..

Yes, it's just the USB header on the Commander Pro you are after for connecting your AIO

I always installed sound cards in my builds until I started using ROG boards.

Unless you're a true audiophile, I wouldn't waste the money. The onboard sound is that good in my opinion.

The Define R6 Blackout is nice and looks good. I had fun building in it. I hope you do too. Are you going to go with the alternative layout? I kinda like the way it comes default too. I was undecided about which way to go. I put my Ryzen in the Define R6 Blackout and I went with a Fractal AIO to sorta do a blackout theme and keep it pretty much Fractal. The GPU I had on hand is not blacked but it sorta works OK. Not sure I'll change it out now.

I was undecided about which way to go. I did not see what cooler you were using. I put my Ryzen in the Define R6 Blackout and I went with a Fractal AIO to sorta do a blackout theme and keep it pretty much fractal (minus the fans I used Corsair MLPRos) . The GPU I had on hand is not blacked but it sorta worked out OK. Not sure I'll change it out now.
