G752VS - Heavy Power Throttling on GPU - Random FPS drops

    Hi All,

    I am running a G752VS - Intel i7 - 6820HK, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070.

World of Tanks is pretty much the only game I play on it right now. Lately I have been experiencing random FPS drops in the game - going from 50-60 FPS to 13-17 FPS for few minutes in between battles, making the game unplayable.

I installed Techpower GPU-Z to monitor the performance and find that the GPU is being throttled constantly - PerfCap Reason stated as 'Pwr', causing the low FPS. Have not been able to determine why and how to stop it.

So far I have tried going to NVIDIA GeForce settings and in 3D Settings > Global > Power Management Mode - changed it to Prefer Maximum Performance from the default - Optimal Power option. However, that hasn't helped improve the performance at all.

Even on when playing on Low graphic settings the FPS falls from 280-300 to 55-60 - still bad enough fluctuation.
    Can anyone help?
