Now I am trying Intel lastest SATA OROM and SATA EFI 16.5.0.3487 working very well master tistou77*

    *

Waiting for next gen Optane SSD or Samsung 985 SSD. The new driver delivered good performance.*

A bit off without being off: what is the "MSR Lock Control" setting in the advanced CPU settings?
It says « Enable - MSR 3Ah, MSR 0E2h and CSR 80h will locked. »

    Master tistou77 and soupiraille

After Analysis 0200004D increase Tj Max my 7980XE from 105 degrees celcius to 110 very amazing! with those level of heat that the CPU can absorb.
Found on Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool 4.0.1.27.*Completely overall 0200004D performance better than 02000049 which Microsoft used on lastest registry patch. However I think this was not final version microcode for our SKX SKU.*

Hope they’re adding PMEM profiles support soon. **

CPU-Z bench results with different microcodes

Thank you restsugavan; indeed Tjmax went to 110°C but as tistou77 mentioned temperatures in idle and load went up 5°C too

I wanted to share some CPU-Z benchmark results, comparing Bios 1004 (the last one before the SpecDown mess) and Bios 1401 with different microcodes. All tests done with SpecDown registry bypass.

First, Bios 1004 (yes, 1004) with original 0200002B µcode:

Bios 1401 with original 02000043 µcode:

Bios 1401 patched with 0200002B µcode:

Bios 1401 patched with 02000035 µcode:

So far, all results vary about 5% when doing multiple tests, but with microcode 0200004D results vary A LOT, from 7500 to 9000 and I even got 11000 once but I never managed to get that result again.

Bios 1401 patched with 0200004D µcode:

    (results vary a lot)

    Thanks for your feedback

The best is the microcode 49, I guess (indicated 35 on your screen) without talking about 2B and 43

    It really is 35 not 39 I don't know where you got 39, I don't have 39!
Also Bios 1401 with 2B performs about 20% less compared to Bios 1004 with 2B! in CPU-Z

    microcode 49, no 39 I was wrong
    And I did not see 35 microcode for Skylake-X, just 2B, 3A, 43, 49, 4D

    Where you find 35 ?
    Have you test 49 ?

Oh ok you meant 49 : ) No I did not test 49, I just tested 4D which is provided by UBU-1.70-b8. But I guess 49 should perform on par with 43 and 4D.

35 is provided by Intel on their website and is dated from 2017-11-17:**https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...code-Data-File
