ASUS Rampage VI Extreme is not detecting my Samsung 950 Pro M.2 drive

Good Evening,
My apologies if this has been answered in another thread however, after reading several threads with this topic, I am not able to fix. I just purchased a Rampage VI and am having an issue with the motherboard not detecting my Samsung 950 pro M.2 drive. I have the M.2 drive install in the DIMM.2 expansion slot and unfortunately the UEFI BIOS is not detecting the drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated as ASUS tech support was not able to answer this. Thanks in advance.

My system specs:
ASUS Rampage VI Extreme
Intel i7 7820X
Corsair Dominator 32GB 3200 RAM
Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512 GB (OS)
Samsung 850 Pro 512 GB (2 in RAID 0) (Games)
Seagate 6 TB SATA (Storage)
Western Digital Raptor 500GB (Games)
GeForce GTX Titan X Pascal (2 in SLI)
Creative SoundBlaster ZxR

You have 2 video cards in SLI with a 28 lane CPU. Remove one video card and see if the bios recognizes the drive. The sound blaster card takes up one pcie lane too.

I agree however I had this exact same configuration with my Rampage V Edition 10 and Intel i7 6800K and everything detected and performed just fine with 28 lanes.

Makes me wonder if the issue is unique to this board. I would still test with one video card and see what happens.

Thank you friend however it is a bit easier said than done as they are both plumbed together with hardline tubing:

Install it in the Dimm2 M2_1 slot and select PCH for it in bios.

A 28 lane CPU like the 7820X cannot activate all of the functions/options on the R6E like the 44 lane 7900X can.

Thank you for the reply, yeah have been trying this and should be this simple but, no luck. After talking with ASUS Tech support, they recommended me to send the entire motherboard and accessories back to the vendor for replacement.

Beautiful rig. Wonder if you could disable one PCIe slot populated by one video card with one of the switches?
