HELP!! Why is Second hard disk not showing up in Bios or windows explorer
Hi,
When I connect my second hard disk, which is a samsung hd203wi 2tb hard disk, as an external drive using ICYbox it shows up in BIOS and in Windows explorer.
However when I connect the same samsung hd203wi 2tb hard disk to the power supply (PSU Corsair 450W VS - 80PLUS) and to the other available Sata6Gb Ports, on the Asus H110M-A/M.2 motherboard using a Sata 3GB cable, it does not show up in BIOS or in Windows Explorer.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks in advance

You're testing fate with a PSU 450W. Could be the HD problem too.

If its not being found in the BIOS then its likely one of two things. No Power or no Signal.
Try a different SATA cable
Try a different SATA port
Try a different power supply plug
Try a different power supply
Make sure boot drive is SATA 0 and not the extra drive
Try updating your BIOS
Clear CMOS

Assuming drive is detected correctly in BIOS, it could be that Windows, for whatever reason, don't assign letter to drive and hence it's not visible.
Try this:
- Start menu
- search / type: disk management and hit enter
- see if drive is detected and if partition/s on it have assigned letters
