USB drive worked and updated successfully. Weird but oh well, just have to create a new windows boot drive next time i want to reinstall it lol. did a quick OC to 5.0 @1.35v. Gonna see how stable this is, previously 4.9 was the most consistent i could get without crashing.

That's great to hear it worked. I hope you'll find the solution on why it didn't work the first time via other storage device - considering you always update thru that method and it works like a charm

Best to use a USB2 Flash Drive. Download 809 directly to your Flash Drive. Restart the computer and press Del or F2 during startup. You will find yourself in UEFI BIOS. Click on Advance mode on the bottom right of the UEFI interface. Once there, go to Tool (upper right of page). Choose EZ Flash. You'll see whatever drives you have installed on your system. Choose the drive i.e. F:drive. Whatever letter has been assigned by BIOS to your USB is the one you want to click (once). When you see the new .cap file double click. You'l be asked if you want the file to be "read". Click okay. The process takes about 15 to 30 seconds for the flashed bios to be successful. Once it is updated, click Exit and then F10. You will see there are no changed to settings but when the computer restarts you'll be prompted to press Del or F2 to access bios again to make any settings changes.

    Good luck!
