    Gl553vd ram upgrade

    Hi,

    My laptop has 8gb ram 2400hz so can i add 8gb ram 2666hz ?

    It is best to upgrade with an 8gb ram 2400hz, in that way you will have 16 gb 2400hz dual channel. If you put 8gb 2666 hz you will still have 16 gb 2400hz but single channel. My advice is to buy 8 gb 2400 hz with the same specification as your actual ram. Plus it only supports DDR4-2400, LPDDR3-2133, DDR3L-1600 you laptop.

    Hi! i inspected my ram (on gl553vd).

    i think its this one Transcend TS1GSH72V4B 8GB DDR4 2400Mhz 260pin ECC SODIMM 1Rx8 server Memory 1.2v
    not sure cuz was a stick. and i can only search the numbers.

    This is so expensive ~~ 80 $ minimum
    anyone know cheap business?


    anyone knows wut is ECC? i already googled. but is this important to consider when installing another module?

    i was using ADATA RAM 2400 DDR4 quite worth the price

    that's not true, ram is now more compatible and you can put any combination and have dual channel, it only has to be DDR4

    but for best result it's better to put the same size, speed and manufacturer
