G20CB m.2 upgrade?
I've been poking around regarding installing a m.2 nvme ssd into my G20CB. These past posts claim that the computer will only support up to a 250GB m.2 drive, but does not state the reason.

Has anyone gotten a 512GB m.2 nvme to work on this computer? Or can you confirm that indeed 250 GB is the limit? I've never heard of an m.2 slot having an explicit storage limitation.

I always told people to stick below the 500gb ssd size, I know that a 128gb would be 100% and descent enough for a boot up drive

I don't think the issue is drive size as much as it is a compatibility issue with drives. Even older versions of the OS that had a 2TB limit doesn't come into play here. Normally so long as you stick to a format that is supported and dont go cheap you are OK. Even Crucial lists a 1TB M2 NVMe drive as compatible, not that I would buy crucial, I tend to stick with Samsung M2 drives.
Contact the support for whatever drives you are interested in via email for a paper trail and get them to spec it out for you, then if its not compatible its on them.

i am interested in buying a used g20cb. but i want to make sure i can stick a 500gb or 1tb nvme drive in it. most likely one of the samsung evos. can anyone please confirm if this arbitrary limitation is still in place after the most recent bios update. also, if you have a 500 gb or larger nvme drive working in ithe machine, please list the make/model.
