Limited to x2 on second M.2 (In Raid 0) on Maximums X Formula

Can someone confirm why I am limited to x2 on my second M.2 slot? It is because I have 2 GPU in SLI? (I foubnd some off hand remark on Guru Review of Maximums
But I thought M.2 uses DMI communication through PCH, which should not be limited by PCIE lane (Which I know is x16 on Z370 board).

Any insights?
