Maximus X Hero BIOS 1602

reupens
Level 7
BIOS 1602 is now out.
1. Improve system performance.
2. Support the latest 8th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor.

It's still propagating on the support site, so it's only showing for some operating systems.

Can anyone check if this is the same BIOS as 1503? Or what is different?

And NO it is NOT the same BIOS....why do you think that? Don't you see the difference? 1503 - 1602?

Stop asking other people to do things for you. Are you a child? Check your stuff yourself. And NO it is NOT the same BIOS....why do you think that? Don't you see the difference? 1503 - 1602? Your post is stupid

Wow!
Well i am asking because the release text is the same for both 1503 and 1602 AND they removed 1503 from the download site, so it seemed like they just renamed the bios file.
I just often saw people had some tools where they can compare the bios files and check for differences, not sure why you would attack me like that?
I always test new bioses, also did it with this one.

Your questions are valid and very welcomed.

I did a SHA256 checksum [hash check] between 1503 and 1602 and they are certainly different. It is a simple method to see if two or more files are the exact same. Here's the results from the 2 BIOS files [unzipped]:

SHA256 for 1503:
1ae8bb8c42750621b7b7058a2fbed15f2a55a8120fa036bd6de33ce692e7e130

SHA256 for 1602:
8d6b1ae739e2d26f14a4a3323a00e9acb902c0574fb0a6eb26ffec8746178378

Your correct Philly. That clown has a lot of guts calling someone else a child.

Just installed on my Maximus X Code....

I was having all sorts of cold boot instability issues with the previous BIOS and it also did memory training (boot cycle) on every boot with the previous BIOS.

So far so good on warm reboots and no issues with the flash.

No noticable change in VCore Load Line Calibration droop/overshoot and RAM/CPU Overclock stability appears to be unchanged after initial testing.

Will report back after a few mornings once I have a picture of the cold boot situation but for now I see no reason to hold back from flashing.

UPDATE: Still getting a BSOD shortly after logging in to windows on cold boot. Otherwise completely stable. Ran OCCT stress test overnight no problems with the same OC settigns that were previously stable on the older BIOS.
