Ok then. I just downloaded the new bios and Chipset drivers I will not be updating the BIOS at the moment. Is the new Chipset driver okay to update? Also, what's usually the order? BIOS then Chipset, or the other way around? Guess it won't matter, since I'm not updating BIOS atm.

I suppose it doesn't matter, but with these Ryzen 3000 bioses so is Bios Flashback recommended over EZ Flash.

I have loaded the AMD x470 chipset driver released on July 7, 2019 with a revision of 1.07.07.0725. I saw no ill effects and placebo effect has me thinking my in game boost frequency on the 2700x went up 50MHz.

If you haven't already I can vouch that it works trouble free over here.

Hmm. It states on AMD's website there's a new Ryzen Plan that's required for UEFI CPPC2 in Windows® 10 May 2019 Update but on my 2600x it didn't even show as an option to select from the drivers to install. Does anyone know why? I'm using Windows Balanced as that's what as always been recommended as supposedly the superior compared to AMD's Ryzen one.

ASUS recommends updating the chipset drivers first, then bios.

2406 has a couple of silly bugs like mouse not working in bios, but it does fix inter-core latency and OCs ok.

Ok. I got my 3900x today to replace my 2700x. Latest Bios 2406 and latest Chipset.
Mouse support is broken in bios
Ram (gskill flare x 3200 C14. Wont do DOCP. It defaults not to 2400. Manual setting and it will not even boot to post screen.
Roll back to 2304. everything works but NVME drive vanishes.

I have a similar set-up. Mouse support is known to be broke with latest bios. For me, disabling fast boot allowed my manual memory settings to stick. I increased my memory speed slowly, rebooting between changes, until I reached 3200.

I can get 3200 but it drops timings to c22. anything faster and I have to clear cmos to boot back into bios.

Worked it out. Even if I set the DOCP 14.14.14 1.35v it wont do it.

BUT If I set DOCP to that AND manually set the ram voltage to the needed 1.35 volts thwen it works.
It looks like it is not auto setting the dram voltage.

Confirmed with 2 others in Hardware Unboxed Discord. They also have to set DOCP first now.

Also STILTS ram profiles TAB is gone.

Exactly the same as me, C7H 2700X, G.Skill Flare-X 3200C14. 2406 has a bug where it sets the DRAM boot voltage to 1.2v, no matter what is in the DOCP/XMP profile. I've sound setting it to 1.4V gets my PC to boot normally with the DOCP profile loaded.

I'm seeing higher than expected voltages reported by HWiNOF... 1.4V at desktop with nothing much happening. Anyone else?
