I have a Asus Strix z370-E and a 32GB G-Skill DDR-4000 Kit FR-4000C18Q-32GTZKW I can only get the pc to post with 16GB or 2 sticks. When I load all 4 the pc wont post.

I am not to familiar with building PC's it took me a while to even get this far.

When I enable XMP the computer wont start either, and it gives me a an error to go back and change the settings.

Boot the PC in XMP setting the 4000mhz frequency with (1) stick only at first...if that works....shut down...add the remaining memory and reboot....dunno if ur board has Memory Tweak Mode...if so..set to mode 1....don't believe ur board has that feature though

I increased into 3733 and its starting with 2 sticks, I will try and add the other 2 again and see what happens.

No dice, still will not post with all 4 slots full.:mad:

Will the board post with default 2133mhz with the 4 slots populated??
The memory is on the QVL...and noticed that the required voltage is 1.35v for that speed....Have you tried increasing the voltage for the ram to 1.40v / 1.45v ??

The QVL at G.SKILL for this memory only shows the Maximus X Hero on the list. https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-4000c18q-32gtzkw

Hard to believe it won't even post at default settings. Maybe try bumping up the VCCIO and VCCSA voltages as well what flyer suggested.

Those are all greek to me, please dumb it down for me 🙂

They say XMP ready right on the sticks, so when I enable XMP on the motherboard shouldn't it read the profile and set the recommended settings?

I had the same problem with a Maximus IX CODE motherboard during the last year.

I had a 3200MHz memory with 1,35V voltage requiered. The motherboard did not post with 3 or 4 sticks, but it worked with 4 sticks. I tried to manually set up the voltages and other settings based on suggesstions in this forum, but it just did not work.

At the end I returned the memories and purchased another type and brand. It worked well.

The XMP profile is an overclock, it's pre-applied and saved on the RAM but it's an overclock non-the-less. The RAM may be capable of those speeds and advertised as 4000MHz memory but the Internal Memory Controller (IMC) on the CPU might not be capable of hitting those speeds. You would need to increase the RAM frequency incrementally to see where it is stable.

Ok, if that's dumbing it down I'm still lost. 😉
