Yes POST times on C7H are slow, will it get faster? not in my opinion.
I base this on how the C6H and ZE are, which again I have had since launch. AFAIK the ASUS boards are slowest to POST, but I have no issue with that TBH. As I like the HW and think FW options are best to eek the best from HW.
Yeah my i5 4690K on a M7R posted much faster, but I have a lot more capable system vs the Intel rig for not alot more £.Intel DefectorAMD Rebel

do you lot sit there timing the post time or what, it's not like it takes minutes, I've never been bothered with post times with any pc I've ever built for myself & I've built quite a few over the years. If post times bother you that much though then one solution is to use sleep mode in windows, that's what I use anyway and hardly ever reboot unless it's for certain driver installs that may require it etc.

Seems like every Forum has someone who has to re-state the obvious!
But...I still get annoyed every time I reboot an AMD system (Taichi/1700X and Hero VII/2700X) and it takes twice as long to boot than similar Intel systems (Extreme Z97/4790K, Extreme4/2600K etc., etc.). By twice as long I mean ~40 seconds vs <20 seconds. AMD has come out with some great new processors, thank you, now if they could just get the BIOS to boot faster.

Ive ran my setup in RAID (SATA) and AHCI (single) and the boot problem for me only manifests itself when Im running RAID (SATA) there seems to be a slowdown on the bootcode 92 (BIOS DATA TABLE CHECK)http://www.bioscentral.com/postcodes/amibios.htm it sits there for about 20 sec then progresses to 99>0d>windows.
This is not present in AHCI mode. fast boot works as intended
CSM>>>disabled
Boot config > 1 sec
UEFI secure boot >>> enabled & seckeys installed.
Hope this helps

Same issue on my Crosshair VII (wifi) 2 700x
it takes almost 30 secs for my system to boot up fully. it's set to UEFI and the slowness is only on pre windows boot up. It looks like the main-board checks heaps of stuff before it starts the OS. Currently on BIOS V1002, I'm planing to upgrade it to V1103.
I will let you guys know if that actually makes any difference.

I just installed BIOS Version 1003 and did not see any change in boot cycle. It still takes the BIOS ~30 seconds "of deep thought" before it starts to boot Win 10.

I've updated my motherboard's BIOS from version 1002 to 1103, 1.5 sec improvement by comparing the Windows last BIOS time from 16.8 to 15.4 seconds

Been on UEFI 0601, 0702, 0804, 0012, 1002, 1101 and 1103. Really can not say I have observed any improved POST time, I did not expect any TBH either.
Resuming from sleep is the speediest way to desktop. The power usage in sleep is so minimal that TBH this is the route I'd employ if POST times is concern.Intel DefectorAMD Rebel
