m.2 sx8000 SSD not detected in Disk Management but shows up in Bios

Hi Guys!

Just purchased a ROG G572v yesterday, the seller had added a m.2 SX8000 SD but said he hasn't configured it yet (which is fine).

I got home and opened disk management and the disk wasnt there.
Checked Device Manager and its not showing up their either.
Reseated it in M.2 port 1, no luck, tried port 2 no luck.

Entered the bios and lo and behold its there!

Any ideas on where i'm going wrong?

Cheers guys, this is my first ASUS as ive always had MSi in the past!

Is a pcie or sata?

Check on the manual if your laptop accepts pcie, i have g703 and only works with pcie.

You have posted in the correct forum, I believe you have a G752 V?? ??-?? In the bios is SATA set to RAID or AHCI? What version of windows?

It would be helpful if you listed your PC Specs in your profile.

If I were you i would read the Reviews on this brand of SSD the link I gave you, your issue seems to be prevalent

Well i know win has a mind of its own one time it work next it don't, this due to mix of 32bit dll and 64 bit dll. I hope you get it sorted out just be calm 🙂

Yes life with Windows 10 is much easier with the Pro version it's well worth the money for the control you regain with windows 10. Like being ablt to easily block Driver updates, block update for months at a time. Classic Shell also is very helpful with maintaining a normal desktop and control panel lots of control over what you see and how you use your notebook
