Are we getting Intel Gen9 Support for Maximus X & Strix Z370 Boards ?
A New bios that will support these new cpu's i9-9900K, i7-9700K, i5-9600K ect.

I would like to upgrade to a 8 core 9700k 🙂

Not 100% on official support but I would only really consider it on the higher end boards due to the VRM. For example, the Hero/Apex is more than capable if support is granted.

MSI already made a update for 15 of their motherboards with way lesser vrms

Maximus X hero should handle this easily too.

they just have to add support in the bios, and i hope they do it soon 🙂

Talking bottom of the stack, really. Strix/Hero should also be fine. Although the proof will be in the pudding for other boards (and vendors) we'll see when the time comes.

Its all about if they are willing to add support through a bios update for these new cpus and i wouldend see why not. z390 is nothing new its just renamed z370 with new wifi and usb, i would be very dissapointed if they didn't add support for these current expensieve high-end boards.

i am hoping some of the staff could awnser when we are getting support for 9th gen with a bios update.

Well there have been reports of benchmark results on the Strix. I'm sure it will be a universal adoption rather than something that particular vendors are offering.

I see ASUS leaked their own Z390 motherboard line up. Rather sad to see that there wasn't a mATX ROG model listed. So first we lost Maximus Gene and now Strix G has gone. Guess I won't be buying ASUS this time.

Also gigabyte has added support for their z370's boards. Any news from asus yet 😉 ?

Are there any drawbacks using a 9th gen 8core on a Z370 Maximus X Hero vs a Z390 Maximus XI Hero?
