Post Will this Mini Displayport to displayport work for my pg258q Monitor on 240hz

    Just a quick question.

I haven't tried that cable in particular but it should be fine, don't worry about 1.1, 1.2, etc. It either works or it doesn't, so of course a cable that is poorly manufactured may result in errors (go with a reputable brand if possible). You're not going to get better picture quality from more expensive cables. The only 2 things to avoid - a DisplayPort cable with RBR (Reduced Bit Rate), and an HDMI cable (refresh rate will be affected - no 240Hz).

As long as both devices support it, yes. Wikipedia has a chart:

I bought the Monitor and there was only the HDMI so I thought it would be the HDMI 2.0 that most likely is supporting 240hz but it was the 1.4 and I had only 60hz. I idk if this cable works but it is vesa certified so it should work if not I will just buy an adapter for displayport.

But thanks for your quick answer. I just wanted to be sure.

Ah, thanks alot I actually looked up the bandwith of the cable I ordered and the manufactor says its total bandwith is up to 21,6 gbps and according to wikipedia 240hz at 1080p is 14gbps.
