Maximus X Hero (Wifi) - HWInfo64 "T2" temp reading?

Hi there

I was wondering what the T2 temperature reading is here? All the other motherboard readings (excluding CPU-related) are static, but T2 seems to rise during stress testing. I would guess it's the VRM, but I don't know that for sure and would really like to know. "PCH" and "Motherboard" seem to be separately reported (and are labelled as PCH and Motherboard in the Asus BIOS). Is it a VRM sensor (if so, I thought the VRM didn't have a temp sensor any more on the Heros?) Many thanks!

Dunno 100% but based on min/max temps being recognized...I would guess that T2 could be vrm temps.
HWIFO64 shows the vrm temps on my Maximus X Code and are pretty much the same as what your seeing....again...only an assumption.

Thanks, that was my guess too - but I don't think I see this temperature being reported in BIOS (there's a "Motherboard" and "PCH" being monitored but, apart from the CPU, nothing else is registering. Does your VRM temp get recognised/monitored in your bios?

Only MB and PCH temps in bios ...vrm monitored via software

i srsly doubt T2 is motherboard vrm. just finished longer sesion of GRW and max temp was 39c of T2 sensor. lower then my wc vrm is on GPU ( 41c) go figure. cant be its vrm.

I would like to know this too. Normally x hero shouldnt have vrm sensor. minority of this boards do, first batch or something, but all after it lack vrm sensor or it cannot be read.

anyone can clear it up for us what PCH, Motherboard, T1, T2 are?

I am also on x hero, T1 is exactly the same Min max average as the "Motherboard" sensor, (I've had hwinfo running a few days) they might be the same. but T2 actually might be the vrm, I cant find a sensor that matches in temps.. the mosfets can have a temp sensor in them? don't quote me on that though....

I have been wondering about VRM temp reporting on the Max X Hero and Hero Wifi, which was rumored to be present when the MOBO first came out, but seems to have mysteriously disappeared. Could never get anyone from Asus to confirm or deny this. I was told by the author of HWiNFO64 that Asus modified the VRM design - changed a component, and now there is no VRM temp reported. The Asus webpage for the Hero and Hero Wifi used to show a thermometer over the VRM heat sink, strongly indicating (but not outright stating) that it did report VRM temp. I looked at the web site today, and that thermometer symbol over the VRM heat sinks is curiously gone. See the screen shots.
