Intel Optane still worth it?

So below is my system, when I built it about 6 months ago I had purchased a 32 gig Intel Optane stick. I just reformatted my machine and I have yet to turn on the Intel Optane and honestly I can't tell much difference. Is using Intel Optane on a SSD pretty much a waste at this point?

Asus Maximus X Code
Gskil 16 GBS DDR 4 2133
Asus Radeon 580
Adata SU800 1TB (Boot Drive)
Intel Optane 32GB

I believe it is a kind of a waste using it on an SSD but if you have it what are you going to do with it
