G703VI Driver and BIOS updates

Hello Asus family,

I have seen that you have been updating G703GI drivers and it seems you forgot about G703VI already. The model was released and the end came very quickly. Can you also please update G703VI so that we can use the newest drivers for GPU, sound, etc. at least?

In addition to that, I was a G701VIK user and now I have G703VI. Same CPU and Same GPU. Although my G703VI is more silent and use fans more efficient at load, unfortunately scenario for the idle situation (also surfing on the net, etc) is not the same. At my G701VIK, I was not only enjoying but I was in love with the dead silent fans during idle. For G703VI, fans continuously working at some level during the idle and I hope that you can tweak it with the new BIOS so that we can enjoy the full silence at G703VI. I think it can't be hard to do that with better cooling system when the CPU and the GPU are the same?

Thanks in advance. I am looking forward for your work.

Ps. Please move the topic if it is the wrong place for it.*

Thanks for moving the post to the correct place.

The G703VI is a 7th Gen Intel Processor laptop with the CM238 Express Chipset using DDR4 2800MHz SDRAM memory.

The G703GI is a 8th Gen Intel Processor laptop with the HM370 Express Chipset using DDR4 2666MHz SDRAM memory.

They are different animals.

Here are some driver updates that should work well with your system. I leave it up to you to find the updates. Good hunting.

Do you use yourself one of these machines? I would love to see official updates at Asus Webpage as well. In addition, a BIOS update would be nice to make the fan profile more silent at idle.

The above driver updates are all found on the ASUS support websites, not just the G703VI page, with the exception of the Intel drivers which I get direct from Intel. I have the G752VSK laptop and use everyone of these drivers.

The single one piece of software, ASUS uses to control performance on their laptops is ROG Gaming Center. Your version (2.1.5) is the same originally used on my laptop. The big exception is that my model has the Turbo Gear update. This update makes it easy to control the performance of the CPU, GPU, and cooling fans. This is not to say that you can't go into ROG Gaming Center and make similar changes. You just need to learn how to configure the program.

The Turbo Gear update does not include your model laptop.

I'm actually using ROG Gaming Center version 2.5.7 on my G752VSK. It appears to be the last version that can be modded with Turbo Gear.

Version V2.5.7 2018/03/08 ASUS Gaming Center

Here are a couple links to how to use the version 2.5 ROG Gaming Center program:

New BIOS has arrived for G703GI but G703VI is forgotten already. Can you please give us silent mod at idle? I hope you hear my silent scream.

Can you post a copy of your ROG Gaming Center at idle?

Here's a copy of mine:

Hi,

I do not use gaming center but ThrottleStop. Temperatures, etc. are fine. Only the fan profile at idle is a bit aggressive. It continuously works with a standard flow. My ex G701VIK with same CPU and GPU shut down the fans completely or worked as dead silent at idle with same temperatures although the case was far more thinner. I believe that Asus engineers can fix it with a simple BIOS update.

In addition to that at new G703GI and GS, there is a ''silent'' profile option at gaming center. Maybe they already implemented it to the newer series which I would like to find out as well.
