    MaxVIII Hero: Chipset(Intel ME driver) update package broken

    I select OS = Win10x64, download the zip file indicated to install Intel ME Driver 1140. Unzip, Run AsusSetup.exe on my Win10x64 system and I get popuyp that says "Win 10" not supported. I looked through the AsusSetup.ini files and see that only Win7 is defined. I changed the ini file, adding win10 support, and rerun successfully.

    Device Manager shows ME Driver 1140 installed and running successfully.

    Asus support people: Better double check the files your support/driverUtilities URL is downloading.

    Everyone else: If hitting same wall, here is what I did:
    1) unzip file
    2) edit HotFix_X64/AsusSetup.ini
    3) add following starting after line 10 (after WIn7 OS description lines)
    ;WNT_10.0P_32 = Win10_32
    WNT_10.0P_64 = Win10_64
    ;WNT_10.0P_32_MCE = Win10_32
    WNT_10.0P_64_MCE = Win10_64
    ;WNT_10.0H_32_MCE = Win10_32
    WNT_10.0H_64_MCE = Win10_64
    ;WNT_10.0H_32 = Win10_32
    WNT_10.0H_64 = Win10_64
    4) save, execute Hotfix_X64/AsusSetup.exe

    It will run now and install 1140 driver OK, I think you just see a flash, no messages or popups.

    TO VERIFY DRIVER INSTALLED OK:
    1) start Device Manager
    2) VERY IMPORTANT: under VIEW , check Show Hidden Devices. Without this ME Driver will not even display
    3) open System Devices list, last entry under the Intel items should be Intel Management Engine Interface
    4) If it has an exclamation point on it;s icon, it failed to load, else it loaded successfully
    5) right-click, select Properties, then Driver tab and verify version

    NOTE: Even if the driver loads successfully, you may see a message "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)" if your ME Firmware is failing to load successfully.

    Download the MEUpdateTool for your motherboard and excecute it to get proper, functioning ME FIrmware installed.

    I just checked the latest package for the Maximus VIII Hero and it is Version 11.7.0.1040 at www.asus.com. The file is fine - lists win10 and installs under win10. What is the full string of this 1140 package?

    Here is a link to the proper package: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...181.1528662017

    And a link to the product page: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards...Desk_Download/
