    The Tri-X is not and will not be a reference PCB, neither is the Strix AFAIK.

    3 power connectors sound like these cards can pull a lot of amps when overclocked, but even if the card itself is pretty much reference having 3 power connectors, or extra/different sensors, etc. would indicate the card is not 100% reference. Most all Pascal cards have the same headroom, max overclock potential unless using extreme cooling solutions.
    ASUS Strix models have always been one of the best models and highest overclocking cards available even if only by a small amount.

    Unless you have inside information it's all speculation which is what we all do until we have facts, I searched on preorder day and was only able to obtain an EVGA Ultra which is a 3 slot card which I don't personally care for but most all of the highest end cards seem to have 3 slot coolers anymore or more than 2 slot, EVGA's cards have multiple sensors that other manufacturers don't have so are these sensors on reference cards but only available to EVGA or are the cards non reference, who knows at this time. Seems like we will be waiting until Sep. 20th to learn the facts

    If you pay attention to articles posted on ASUS.com you can read there that "more of cards will be released in coming months". ROG Strix 2080TI is one of them.

    tl;dr;

    its not ready yet, just wait
    Shouldnt this be the case for the regular 2080 strix then?
    Or do only the ti versions use an asus custom PCB for OC and RGB like you explayned?

    And is this a first time for a delay? I always buy the new strix card (sli 1080ti strix oc right now) every launch i never needed to wait before.

    Edit, and if i remember correctly at the time of me writing the post there wasnt even a mention of the 2080 series on the asus website yet, just the first preorders popping up on retalier site's . Not 100% sure tho.

    Just a guess but until stock of Pascal cards are gone Turing cards may be few and far between, also Nvidia may have a say in when custom cards are released since they sell cards themselves, although I have no inside information on any thing myself

    Fake exhaust pipes?

    Haha since that got your wheels turning, yeah unfortunately some cars/trucks have fake exhaust pipes, the 92 chevy silverado is an example.

    A pipe from each exhaust manifold to one muffler, from there it could have been kept to 1 tail pipe but has 2 tailpipes. So while it looks like dual exhaust it really isn't.

    Poseidon and Matrix tend to run some ASUS factory overclock. I suspect that means they won't be available until ASIC yields (or raw binned-out part inventory) have increased to the point where they have enough parts on hand to justify the product run. There always seems to be shortages of quality VRAM as well, which seem to get a little worse each GPU generation ... these tend to impact (limit) the availability of top-end cards the hardest.

    How can you be that sure that it is reference PCB? I was actually thinking about getting a card and putting a custom waterblock on it which for now is only available for the Founder's Edition and I was wondering if Asus 2080ti TURBO or DUAL may be using reference PCB or custom...

    Any help on this?

    Thank you
