Critical features of the AC adaptor are its DC voltage and wattage. If you find any adaptor that can put out 150W at 19V DC, then it will work fine. If you don't overclock your GPU or don't run all 8 cores full bore all the time, you can get away with less wattage, but the 19V is still necessary. Your CPU+GPU will together draw 45+75=120W of power, just by themselves, so don't skimp too much... Just stick with 150W IMHO.

I just bought one from http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=720
a couple months back. Quick shipping.

As far as I can tell, the following are the top five power draws in a typical G74SX:

Processor TDP (max)= 45W
NVIDIA 560M (max) = 75W
Chimei Innolux 17.3 LED (N173HGE-L11/L21) = 9.3W
Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 7200RPM (x 2) = 3.1W each x 2 = 6.2W
Intel HM65 Chipset TDP = 3.9W

Total ~ 140W. Go with a 150W adaptor, as I say. Heres one for much less:

Thanks for that! my only real concern was the price. I knew that there had to be something else out there less than 89.99. I think Ill be picking this one up
