Asus ROG GL503GE touhpad not recognized in device.manager after fresh win 10 install

Hi all.

Got myself a new Rog Strix GL503GE.

Touchpad was fine until.I fresh installed win 10.

I did some serious digging but

PTP driver installation fails.
ATK installation fails.until I run 409.msi explicitly.
Smrt Gesture runs ok.

Touchpad enabled in hotkeys.

I2c driver fails because wiating for component. Error 51. Probably touchpad ptp driver.

Any thoughts?

Let me elaborate a little bit.

The laptop came in fine.
It had Windows 10 Home edition, ASUS logo embedded everywhere.

I reinstalled it to get a fresh and clean Windows installation.

From the setup process itself al through using windows after installation, the touchpad did not work at all.

DEVICE MANAGER DOES NOT SHOW ANYTHING SIMILAR TO IT.

It does work in BIOS.


I tried to download PrecisionTouchpad_ASUS_CFL_W10_64_V11025 from ASUS's website but I can't install it.
Message shows the following:

75554

My local ASUS warranty provider says that "ASUS does not support their drivers working properly on windows installations other than the original exact image". Which is non sense of course.


Anyone understand what the hell is going on?

Asus and Windows do not get along where the touchpad is concerned. I have 3 Asus computers and the touchpad always get broken with a major Win update. Go to the Elantech website and look for drivers there.

I am facing the same problem. Have you found any solution? I have talked to the asus people and they are just wasting time and not solving the problem:mad::mad:.
