Buy Zenith Extreme today or wait for X499?

As title.
It seems that AMD is going to launch X499 on January, does it have sense in buying X399 now?

Will X499 bring PCI Express gen 4?
I don't understood if X499 will be launched to be a newer chipset for the current Threadripper gen 2 or for the next Threadripper gen 3, or for both.

Ill wait, jan 2019 is only 4 months away. just make whatever you hve work till then. I was gonna upgrade my 1950x into the new 32core one but decided not to since the new gen threadrippers are coming so Ill just wait for that myself.

In January they will probably present X499, I don't know if they will launch it nearly to jeanuary.
The only sure things is that we will not see Threadripper gen 3 before october 2019 since they have launched the second gen now.

But I don't understand the point in presenting X499 in january since in january there is no new threadripper to use in it.
Will it be a chipset for gen 2 threadripper? Will they present X499 for gen 3 threadripper? But what the sense in presenting a new chipset and not a new processor?

I've seen Prime X399-A at less the £200 on Amazon Warehouse deals, Zenith Extreme at around £300 mark. Recently brand new 1900X ~£269 and 1920X ~£375. To me seems a lot of "bang for $".

So would the wait be worth it?
