Booting Windows 10 of 970 Pro vs. 950 pro

    Hello All:

I am trying to boot an old mother board using a PCIe card. I am able to boot of a 256G 950 Pro; but am unable to do the same with a 512G 970 Pro. Both recent drives. Is there something wrong with the 970 pro or is there a limitation?

    ASUS P6x58D-E
    Intel X58 (Tylersburg 36S)

    Thanks,
    Tamer

No it's just a new controller, so you have to work with it. First make an image of your Windows. Now do a clean install of windows to 970. When done, do a restore from your image to 970 with the clean install on it, and BAM! You can now boot into windows on your 970 witthout any issue. Been there done that, it works!
