ZE + Ryzen Threadripper 2950X First boot error code E6

Hello Guys,

Upon first boot up I receive Code E6 Check CPU error. There's no sound signal of any sort.
The boot stops at this error and I don't see any post screen on my display.

I did a web search but could not find anything that may be related to my problem or that specific failure code.
Any help would be much appreciated on what may be the cause or how to solve it?

Make sure you are on UEFI 1402 when using TR 2950X.
You can download it from https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-ZENITH-EXTREME/HelpDesk_Download/
Extract it to a FAT32 formatted USB-stick and rename it to ZE.cap
Plug it in on the USB port on the back labeled for UEFI Flashback and press the button to initialize UEFI update. (Full instructions are available in the PDF manual for the motherboard)

Thanks Ljugtomten for your prompt reply! I updated the BIOS and everything worked as it should. Case solved!

Had the same problem. Couldn't figure why I had no post screen and the Code E6 check cpu was flashing. The Bios update solved it.
This is something that everyone that builds a zenith extreme and 2nd Gen threadripper build should know and it's not that obvious. Very convoluted.

Thanks for your post! Saved me from going crazy. 🙂
