Maximus Hero IX will not Post

    Hello Everyone,

i just installed a second GeForce 980 it in compurter. It carried the above mentioned motherboard and utilizes an Intel 7700k. I installed the second card and nothing. Fans would start but nothing appeared on the screed. I remover the original and installed the new one in the #1Slot. It booted. I shut the machine down and I have not been able to start it since. I tried the onboard video which I think may be disabled. Since, I tried everyt combination with no luck.

i have tied different ram, many a completely different video card.

The machine will not start in the original configuration. I checked all the connections and every other usual suspect. Does anyone have any ideas.

    Thwnk you,

    Roger

    Hi,

Given the machine was working before, it's difficult to say from the 3rd person. Can you please specify what shows on the Q-Code LED when the system doesn't post?

The machine will power up. The Q Code LED displays “00”. It will stay on “00”no mater what button I push including reset. The BIOS has been flashed. Monitors show nothing. Nothing hits them. The machine is not loading BIOS.

I tried different ram that worked in this machine previously. Things started when I installed a second video card.

Thank you you for your help.

    1. Check both the 24 pin and 4pin 12v are connected correctly

    2. Remove the CPU cooler and reseat the CPU whilst checking for even mounting pressure

Thank you. Will try everything mentioned above. I will try it again if I checked it before.

    Thanks,

    Roger
