    Hey there: Solution for RS4 and RS5. With RS4 you can either uninstall the offending KB or replace the mcupdate_genuineintel.dll located in Windows/System32 and disable updates. An annoying process. RS5 is, concerning the mcupdate_genuineintel.dll that is updated with the carpy code, is integrated. So there is no KB to remove, to uninstall. The fix now for is take ownership of that file, rename or delete it and replace it with a version prior to the patch. I used the July 10 2018 version in SXS backup. Works perfect.
    Until there's a fix, this is how you get your OC back. Enjoy.
    Caveat: Updating to 1809 removes the earlier version of the .dll file you will need to perform this. So either save a copy prior to updating or, find the file version from July.

    I'm no longer using RS4 or RS5, but if I ever go back to them for some reason I will give this a try. Thanks for the tip.

    When I get back home tomorrow evening I can upload this file from 1607 (RS2) on my desktop if anyone wants it.

    Hi everybody,

    I have a 6950X running on a R5E10 with 1801 BIOS. I OC'ed it to 4.0 GHz and it was perfectly fine until I noticed that 9 of 10 cores just clocked to 3.5 GHz while 1 of 10 cores clocked to 4.0 GHz. I thought a application or setting I made ****ed up my system. I reinstalled Windows and tried to find the error. I do have a custom Setup DVD with updates injected. When I installed my system yesterday it worked as intended. When I installed it today it didn't. I checked what was different. KB4462933 and KB4100347 were added.

    This is reproducable!

    Skylake-X is not affected by this issue or at least mine wasn't not sure what your showing in the other reply of yours is about "decrapified" lol

    2 months later and this is apparently still a thing, unbelievable. I wasted hours upon hours yesterday updating or resetting bios, removing random software etc just to stumble upon this thread.

    I'd rather move to Linux than deal with this **** from Microshaft. They and/or Intel are apparently happy to royally screw over a minority of their userbase, we should not expect a fix for this anytime soon.

    Well, it's the microcode from Intel causing it. Which any self-respecting Linux distro will also have implemented. For security reasons.

    Good news i got a Reply from Asus with a Bios attached for the Rampage V edition 10 i havn't tested it yet i will do that this weekend but i want to give you guys the chance to go ahead and try it your selfs.

    Should fix the overclock issue with Windows 10 KB4100347 and the windows 10 October update Build 1809
