GL504GM Problem!@ Stuttering,constant FPS drops etc.

Please check the BIOS version that it is currently installed on your device and try to install the latest one.

Your product has pre-installed the ASUS utility WinFlash Version V3.2.2 that could be also downloaded from the below link

In order to check if you have the latest BIOS version you have to connect the Notebook with the charger and the battery level is more than 50%.

Then you have to download and unzip below file* on the “desktop

”Please “run” (double click on the icon) the utility WinFlash and load the already downloaded file.

Don't bother messing around with modded bioses unless you really know what you're doing. Be sure to have a proper dump of your stock bios and an spi programmer in hands, in case something goes wrong.

I mean, the link itself is safe, it's dropbox. The download is just a zip file with the bios file in it.

Best stuff I read since I bought the laptop! Thanks a lot, updating to BIOS version 307 completely fixed the random FPS drop for me.

Late on this, but just to let you know, I believe the problem was due to putting the laptop on a elevated surface for some reason.

That's a known issue. The thing is, why on earth placing a laptop on an inclined surface would affect its performance? I guess we will never know.

thats a mystery dude i even encountered it on my GL504GM unit but when i updated my bios to 307 everything is all ok for now except for the sound issue though

the bios file is safe nothing to worry because i updated mine with this link with no problems

I am surprised to see this many people with this stuttering issue; looking forward to getting home and updating to newest bios (fingers crossed it fixes issue). I thought that i possibly bought a junk/bad egg/damaged gaming laptop. I was getting pretty sick to my stomach where my gaming desktop has similar specs (i7-8700k, gtx1060 6gb, 16gb ram) and was handling the games buttery smooth compared to my stuttering laptop. Even updated my ram to 2 x 16gb (overkill i know) instead of 1 x 16gb, read that 2 sticks has better performance.

***Update***

Updating to BIOS 307 seems to have corrected the stuttering in my gaming. Will keep an eye on it and see how it holds out. Pretty relieved having it work like it should.
