Ryujin AMD-Only???

So is Asus really not going to make an Intel bracket for the Ryujin coolers? I don't understand why they'd really make the Ryujin line AMD-only, given that this is their flagship AIO product and Intel has the most market share.

I was planning on buying the 360mm Ryujin for whatever bonkers price it ends up listed for, because I want a 360mm rad for my Intel CPU which plays nice with Asus Aura. This one comes with the same Noctua fans I'd normally buy for the radiator (saving me $75), as an added bonus. But it looks like that's not possible, so if I want 360mm I have to go to Corsair or NZXT. Or I can sacrifice cooling for the smaller 240mm Asus Ryuo (and have to buy my own fans).

So yeah, this is really annoying. It would be nice to see some explanation or clarification. As far as I know it's just a matter of the right mounting hardware, as most/all AIO coolers have cold plates big enough for a variety of CPU sizes.

Most people seem to understand that one block probably can't be made (with this ROG styling) to mechanically fit both socket types so two different versions would need to be available.
Nobody seems to understand why two versions are not available.

Look at PsiEmitter's post on the 2nd page of the other thread. It appears that the final version of the product indicates Intel compatibility on the box.

Thanks for the clarification. Asus really needs to update their product pages so all these tech blogs and whatnot get the right info about it. Last I checked it still only listed AMD sockets.

I guess I'll go back to waiting for the Ryujin 360 to hit then.

lol I had ignored all the usual marketing fluff on the Overview pages and gone straight into the Specifications pages (which all describe only AM4/TR4 compatibility).

@ASUS really should update this stuff, lol, the error I made is apparently the same error made by visitors in a few threads in this forum (and in other forums).

The issue that myself and many others have pointed out is that there's nothing like you linked above for the Ryujin coolers on the overview page showing compatibility and other features, like there is for the Ryuo. Furthermore, the specs for either the Ryujin 240 or 360 list only "CPU Socket Support: AMD: AM4, TR4*；AMD: AM4, TR4*". It's a pretty big step for me or anyone to just assume that Ryujin has the same compatibility as Ryuo, especially when the spec page indicates otherwise.

I get that the product isn't even available yet so the pages might not be ready, but since blogs and journalists are making the same assumptions I was about Ryujin being AMD-only, you may want to at least update the CPU Socket Support portion of their specs pages to be in line with reality.

Both those recent articles explicitly say Ryujin only supports AMD CPU's, presumably based on what is listed on the specs page on the Asus site.

Anyways, hopefully this all gets sorted out for the benefit of others. I am excited to get my hands on one of these soon.

At 1:30 you see the box, that clearly says Ryujin support for Intel sockets as well! By the way, in the video Ryujin 360 is used to cool a 8700K CPU.

So for me Intel support seems likely at this point (anyway, common sense also tells me, that Asus simply can not be that dumb, not to support the biggest CPU manufacturer of the world with their TOP new AIO cooler, and therefore lose an extreme amount of money), however, on the box you also read "The mounting bracket is bundled with TR4 CPU package", and I'm not sure at all, what does this mean exactly...

All in all: SOME DECENT AND EXACT INFORMATION FROM ASUS representatives would finally be utterly usefull!

Yeah I saw that in the video. I think everyone (here at least) is clear on it now. It definitely supports all current Intel/AMD sockets.

I'm guessing the blurb about the TR4 bracket means that this uses part of the AMD OEM mounting hardware which comes with the CPU to mount the block. Hardware for the other sockets are probably provided in the box with the AIO.
