Hello guys. Can you please help me to understand. I'm former owner of 1070ti and now testing 1080ti (Not OC version 11G-Gaming).

So previously I useg GPU Tweak II on 1070ti, set the freq in the util and my GPU worked at this freq (1759Mhz) on full load. It was not fluctuating.

Now I'm testing 1080ti, and it seems strange. I set any mode from GPU Tweak II like OC or Gaming, (That is OC Mode - GPU Boost Clock : 1632 MHz , GPU Base Clock : 1518 MHz
Gaming Mode (Default) - GPU Boost Clock : 1607 MHz , GPU Base Clock : 1493 MHz) https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic...pecifications/

And my card under full load works at 1900+ Mhz?! And its fluctuating. Why is that? It stops at 70-72 C with fan speed around 50%, so its kind of OK, but why? Does that means that ROM was altered?

    Hi,

The GPU Boost Clock offset merely sets the maximum target frequency. The actual frequency under load is controlled by GPU Boost 4.0 and will scale based on voltage, power, and thermal conditions.

Thanks for your answer. I think you meant GPU Boost 3.0, as it is 1080ti not 20xx series?

My ROM according to GPU-Z is same as this https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/198159 that should be default.
I'm worried that the card has rom overwritten by the shop I bought it, or it was not new card, when I bought it. Can you confirm its default ROM?

I wonder why my 1070 ti did not perform like this, but just kept the freq I set in GPU Tweak II on the load? It should have GPU Boost 3.0 as well, shouldn't it?

Yes GPU Boost 3.0 in the case of the 1080, however, both are dependant on the same characteristics. It's likely because your 1070 was able to maintain thermals thus kept within the same boost bin. The fact your new card is boosting higher is something to be pleased about, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

    Hi MoKiChU
I tried to install new GPUTweak II on a ASUS STRIX GTX970 OC. My old GPUTweak II was v1.2.2.0. I followed the procedure in the first page for a clean install.
The installer gave me the following error: 1608 Unable to create InstallDriver instance. Return code: -2147221021.
The same error with either v1.9.3.0 or v1.9.1.1 of GPUTweak II. I have installed v1.9.1.1 om a ROG STRIX GTX1070Ti with no problem.
    Any idea ?
