So, I guess it's possible that Asus's Z370 platform/software has issues with the upcomming Windows 10 October update. I just reverted Windows 10 to the previous version and the issue is gone. I'm going to be contacting Asus and to be sure to suggest they testing my motherboard+newest bios+newest software - I suggest you do the same.

Microsoft has pulled the 1809 update. Some peoples Documents' folder gets wiped by the update.

Aside from the BUGCHECK mentioned before and some momentary freezes I think were from with the updated RST driver it installed (16.5.1.1030 - I reverted back to 16.0.2.1086), I have had no other issues so far.

That update will probably kill my old asus g74 sx LOL At least I can defer for some months... It will give time to MS to fix some glitches...I hope my ROG survives...Just invested some $$$ for new battery, memory!*

Microsoft just released an update (patch Tuesday)
    2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4462919)

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/...date-kb4462919

But I am reading few complaints like WDF Violations in HP workstations
    https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/new...ates-released/

Have you updated to the latest patch for 1803 yet? Any problems so far??? Geez I'm getting scared receiving these updates due to that October update fiasco

    Thanks a lot

    *UPDATE*
Updated to newest OS build without any problems

I was having significant issues with my machine locking up completely when waking from sleep, requiring a hard reset, on 1809 with BIOS 1702 on my Maximus X Apex. Reverted back to 1803 with all Windows updates and updated all drivers to their latest (chipset, ME, iRST etc) and now have no issues. Something very wrong with compatibility with 1809 and Asus motherboards preventing wake from sleep from working.*

I tried reporting the issue with waking from sleep to Asus support. It was the usual thing with then not reading the ticket properly first time around and I don't think they know what to do with a bug report.

Is anyone willing to test the new re-released 1809 update and see if they’re still having issues with sleep/wake? I just recently reinstalled 1803 and don’t wanna go through the whole rigmarole again if it’s not fixed, I rely on having my PC being able wake reliably from sleep.*

I'm still on 1803. The latest patch that got installed last Nov.13 was --->https://support.microsoft.com/es-ec/...date-kb4467702

After installing this update, some users cannot set Win32 program defaults for certain app and file type combinations using the Open with… command or Settings > Apps > Default apps.

I have been running 1809 for some time. There is some issue with the Samsung nvme driver (I had 3.0), 1809 and sleep - the system would hang or crash. I resolved it by uninstalling the Samsung driver and using the native windows nvme driver.

I have a task that wakes my PC every night to do backups and other assorted maintenance - no issues now.
