Hello everybody,

I am going to upgrade my rig with new GPU & monitor. My plans are to buy the Asus PG279Q and then i'm going to buy the GPU. Here is the dilemma.
I want to play games on 2k resolution and below is my rig setup analysis. Which card do you suggest better for 2k gaming (best for price/quality/result).

CPU: Intel i7 8700k
MOBO: ASUS Maximus X Hero
GPU: ASUS GTX970 STRIX 4GB OC
RAM: G.Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB 3600MHz C16 (4x8GB)
SSD1: Samsung 970 Evo NVMe M.2 250GB
SSD2: Samsung 860 Evo 500GB
CASE: NZXT H700i
COOLER: NZXT Kraken x72
PSU: Corsair HXi Series HX850i

Thanks.

2080 and 1080 Ti are about equal unless you intend to use RayTracing, then a 2080 Ti would be best. Without RT the 1080 Ti would be most cost effective.

Is the RTX 2080ti an overkill for 2K gaming?

Personally I feel RTX2080 will be enough, but if you have extra dough, doesnt hurt to get the RTX2080ti
