Maximus 8 Impact + H115i PRO Help

Hey Im trying to build my first PC and trying to set this cooler up thats supposed to be compatible. The issues seems that the motherboard doesnt have a usb 2.0 to plug it in only and 20 prong 3.0. Im trying to figure out in what ways to go about to getting this thing plugged in. And if I cant, what other CPU coolers can I use since I dont have a usb 2.0 on the mother board to plug in. Much thanks if you can help me with this headache.

Hi, the Impact 8 has a great deal of performance packed into a small space, so some features inevitably don’t make the cut. You can use header converters such as these:

76173
13900KS / 8000 CAS36 / ROG APEX Z790 / ROG TUF RTX 4090

But the thing is I dont wanna get ride of my 3.0 usb either. I was hoping to find a way to keep it and have the usb 2.0

This might work, but you will have to do some cable splicing to shorten the cable and route it through one of your PCIE slots to one of the 3.0 USB headers on the back of your motherboard.

StarTech Mini USB Cable - A to Right Angle Mini B or StarTech Mini USB Cable - A to Left Angle Mini B.

I have no idea what the connection of the Corsair Link USB cable to the pump looks like, but contact Corsair Support for verification and confirm if this work around works.

The only thing you need the USB cable for is to change the color of the led.
