I'm pretty sure that international warranties don't apply to motherboards and go by region. If you live in the EU and buy the motherboard through an EU distributor, you have a warranty. If you live in the USA and buy a motherboard through an international distributor and it requires service, the customer is required to pay for repairs. I hope I'm wrong but I think this how Asus works. Correct me please if I'm wrong. I hope I am.

Mods and reps monitor these threads so if any can clarify this please let us know. You probably would only find that you either have or don't have a warranty if you ever need an rma. Hopefully you never will and the board never has an issue then you won't be affected. If they would only release it here in NA or at the very least give us some kind of idea as to when it could be available we wouldn't have to worry. I never understood the secrecy when it comes to availability. We're not talking about intermediate missile deployment locations here, just a motherboard that was released 4 months ago. How about it guys? Any clues to drop?

Overclocking and sub-zero cooling are bigger reasons for a void warranty - the old "overclock at your own risk and expense." If the board is defective on arrival and detected right away, return to the seller is another option to RMA even though it may mean shipping back to the UK. Checking it out fully at ambient within the seller's return period is a good approach to being sure the board as delivered doesn't need warranty service.
BTW, ttone, I notice the HWBOT sig. Welcome back.

Thanks, Jab :-) Got some gear arriving over the next few weeks including a VGA pot and an Evga power board... I have no idea what I'm doing but I've got a bunch of old GPUs that will either be a lot of fun or possible death by electrocution ;-)
Looks like the Apex has hit Newegg. $999.00... not off to a good start lol! And sold out...

It's not coming to the US
I just got a response from my presales query. They said it will not be shipping to the USA and that I should buy it from the UK without a warranty.
I am still shaking my head on this one. the US market is HUGE and they don't want to release it's best products here. I am just like most of you and LOVE my Apex motherboard. ASUS are you punishing us ? Why do I have to pay an artificially hiked price because some UK vendor knows they have a lock on distribution.
I am sooooo seriously thinking about dumping everything ROG at this point. You have insulted me as a consumer.
================================================== =============================== response below
Thank you for contacting ASUS product support. My name is John T. and it will be my pleasure to assist you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. I assure you that it is important that your issue gets resolved and we will continue to work on your case. It is our goal to provide prompt issue resolution for our customers. If your issue remains unresolved we would like to contact you by phone to avoid further delays. If this is acceptable, please provide the best phone number, day, and time for us to reach you.
I apologize for the inconvenience on your part. We appreciate you taking your time for this case. Upon checking on our end, the MAXIMUS XI APEX will not be released in the US as of the moment. We do not have any specific time frame when this will be open for sale in the US. If you really wanted the motherboard, you can order from the stores in the UK but it may affect the warranty of the product since it will be in the UK region not the US region.
Please let me know if you encounter problems along the way and I will be glad to provide assistance. Thank you for choosing ASUS.Last edited by 1mluer; 02-11-2019 at 05:12 AM.
