Ah, thanks for the reply Mike. I appreciate it. Yeah, I couldn't see the Apex being more expensive than the Formula or Extreme. Hrrm. So hopefully it'll be somewhere around the $350 range. Id happily pay another $50 over the Hero XI for the Apex.
I did however decide to pull the trigger and buy the XI on Amazon after reading more in depth into the "twin 8-phase" scandal. I am disappointed that Asus's marketing for the board was kinda sketchy, however, being realistic, the Hero XI shouldn't have any problems getting a 5ghz OC on my 9700k, if people are successfully overclocking the power-hungry 9900k to impressive levels on it....
I have 30 days to return it. I might just sit on it and wait to see if we hear any updates on the Apex release soon. I really like what I've seen of the Apex so far, and would love to own one. I heard the IX and X Apex boards were great, and I completely missed out on getting to check them out because my Hero VIII Alpha has been treating me well for the last few years.ASUS ROG Maximus 8 Hero Alpha | Intel i5 6600k @4.7ghz | G. I really wonder why the Apex is normally delayed. Well at least the IX Apex was released pretty much at the same time as the others, X Apex a few weeks late, but this XI Apex seems to be late for quite longer than the others. I'm hoping that January will be the latest

Will be getting one even though I have a XI Extreme currently simply because it is such a good OC'ing board in my opinion. Like the absence of stuff I do not want or need when benching.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Patiently waiting for the Apex as well. It’s tradiationally the best CPU overclocker & highest memory speed supported board even more than the Extreme board while at a cheaper price. Real performance enthusiasts go for the Apex, not the Formula (because of RGB bling) nor the Extreme (just cause it’s the most expensive, expensive = better right!!???!!??).*

Same here, I have everything in my build planned out, I am actually starting to buy the parts. I can buy all of them now, but since the Apex is still not out, I can still wait and snipe great deals. I just don't understand why it's taking them this long this time to release the Apex

Im still waiting to hear something about the Apex's release. Ive got all my parts sitting here to build my new Rig... I have 30 days to return the Hero XI I picked up. Might end up giving in and just building on the normal Hero XI. Im sure it will perform admirably, but I was really hoping to get my hands on an Apex. I missed the IX and X because i hadn't needed to build a new PC since my Hero Viii Alpha... Love my Alpha. Now I want the Apex experience hehe.

I'll probably wait until the end of January, or until the 2080 Ti Strix waterblock by EK gets released (they say January). If the Apex is not released by then, I'll maybe skip Asus boards this gen.

Apex is delayed to ASUS build better power section???
That mean again Apex will hold crown as best OC board, not Rampage Extreme or Maximus Extreme.
And Rampage VI Apex will be good and for second gen i9-9800X/i9-9820X/....
Apex will be and my next board, only I'm not sure when.
I rather go with Rampage because stability and durability of platform is little more important than advantage in single threaded applications.

EDIT: OK it's just me

Okay, so the M11 series no longer has a connection for the OC Panel. Instead, it connects to "ASUS NODE Hardware Control Interface." So what is this? A new hardware item like the OC Panel? Available? Included with the M11APEX? (It's not listed in the box contents of Extreme or Formula.) Inquiring minds and OC mavens want to know.
