Crosshair VI Hero Freeze and Reboot

This post is actually for two questions. One is that my build is freezing and rebooting. I have checked the thermal paste and verified full coverage on the CPU as well as monitored CPU Temps. All looks good with regards to these two inspections. I have also run voltage checks on the PSU and all the voltages are on par.

The other issue that I have run into is that my PC will not boot when I connect the PCIe riser cable into Slot 2 on the motherboard. It will boot when I move the riser card to slot 4. Any assistance you can provide that will help resolve these two issues would be GREATLY appreciated.

Build is as follows:
Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VI BIOS 6201
AMD Ryzen 1700X
eVGA 850 G2 Power Supply
Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 Memory 4x8GB 3200 MHz
ASUS ROG Strix GeForce® GTX 1070 Video Card
Samsung 960 EVO SSD 250GB M.2 Memory Card (Windows Boot Disk)
Samsung 850 EVO SSD Drive (Data Storage)
WD Blue SSD Drive (Data Storage)
2-WD NAS WD20EFRX-68EUZNO Drives in RAID1 Configuration (Back-up)
Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 Cooling Fan
APC XS-1300 Battery Back-up

No idea on riser issue.

Perhaps the freezing/reboot is due to 4x 8GB needing some tweaking. You able to share a Ryzen Timings Checker screenshot? (link to app)

I'd also go to UEFI 6301 (you'll find in this link). By any chance do you have any apps running in the background of OS that do monitoring of HW? ie AIDA64, HWINFO, AURA, Ai Suite, etc

I was able to correct this issue by removing the video card from the riser cable and install the card directly onto the motherboard.
The video card is now in slot 2 PCIe 3.0x16/x8_1 slot
All the components of my build are in a Thermaltake P5 case and I was using the Thermaltake TT Premium PCI-E 3.0 Extender. After removing this cable from the equation, no random computer freezes or reboots.

Thank You for the response Gupsterg
