I’ve got the chance to buy one of these (second hand) at a bargain price.

I don’t really know much about sound cards, the last one I bought was a Creative Fatality! I’ve looked at the specs and reviews for this card and given all I do on my PC is gaming, do you think this card is overkill for that? Also would I need to install the daughter card if I’m not going to be using any of those connections? I’ll only be using my headset for gaming - I’m aware I’ll need 6.35 to 3.5 adapters.
